Neverknown is a young New Zealand based alternative pop/hip-hop artist. Self taught multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from the age of 11, her passion has always been in music. Inspired by an array of musical influences ranging from the hip-hop rap duo $uicideboy$ to the underground British rapper, ATO. She is never afraid to be completely vulnerable and open in her lyrics.

Neverknown was selected to attend APRA Songhubs curated by Jordan Rakei in 2023, completely shaping her musical journey. In Neverknown‘s first years of releasing music, she gained over 20,000 streams on Spotify with audiences listening in from all over the world. At just 17 years old, her song Look from her debut EP was featured on Spotify’s “New Music Friday NZ & AU” playlist, along with three other Spotify editorial playlists such as “Fuzzy”, “Fresh finds NZ & AU” and “The Local List Aotearoa”, as well as having recognition from NZ On Air Music and music produced via the New Music Artist Development. Making her moves this year with announcing her third single release Pressure, Neverknown is one to look out for in 2024.

Produced by well known New Zealand Producer Noema Te Hau, Pressure lures you in with melodic synths and takes you on a journey with heavy hitting production accompanied by Neverknown’s eerie, spacious vocals and heavy lyrical content. Neverknown shares her struggles indirectly on living with mental illness and constantly battling different parts of herself while allowing space for listeners to take their own meaning from the song. Neverknown describes Pressure as a “genre fusion of wavy, trap pop” creating her own lane in the alternative music scene.
