Written and produced by Murmur Tooth (NZ) & Lars Moston, and featuring a stellar shout-along vocal performance by London geezer ladies Ruby Confue & El Wiggly, Z is for Zombie is a Jungle-Punk party song perfect for your Halloween soundtrack. And with educational lyrics like ‘A is for ambulance, Z is for Zombie’, you might just learn something too!
Murmur Tooth (Leah Hinton) is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer from New Zealand, now based in Berlin. Leah played classical piano as a child before teaching herself guitar. She toured her way around Europe with metal and rock bands, then built a studio in Berlin and started her solo project Murmur Tooth, writing, recording, producing and mixing two EPs and a full-length album, as well as filming and editing a bunch of music videos.
British-German DJ/producer Lars Moston tours the world as a DJ, moving dancefloors from Fusion Festival to Tomorrowland. His own music is the result of an unpredictable range of influences and has been released on influential House Music labels such as Berlin’s Katermukke, Spanish giants Suara, and Nervous Records from New York City. He has remixed top artists like Purple Disco Machine and his music regularly pops up in the Beatport Top100 and in tastemaker playlists.
Leah and Lars have been exploring how their polar opposite musical backgrounds can clash and combine, producing music that ranges from club tracks to left-field pop songs. 2022 saw their first releases together, starting with an official remix of Claptone’s single, Beautiful on Different Recordings.
Their full-length album No Time to Explain, released in May 2023 on Motor Music, is a genre-wandering ensemble of catchy songs full of hooks and bursting with the weird and wonderful sounds of salvaged childhood toys and repurposed household appliances. The single, Antidote, hit the Top 20 of the German Club Charts, and was Claptone’s ‘Claptune of the week’. A brand new Club Mix of Antidote has just been released on legendary House label, Nervous Records.
In 2024Murmur Tooth & Lars Moston founded electronic label Outergalactic Music, releasing their Tech House banger This Is Wild and Melodic House Radio Silence (Club Mix). Sharks was next, a freaky fusion of digital synth grooves and floating vocal dreamscape, followed driving Electro-Pop sing-along Picture.
Their live set showcases the dancier side of their music, incorporating live vocals, keytar, synths and DJ elements into the perfect festival experience. Watch this space…
