The wait is nearly over for Taranaki fans as folk trio Turkey The Bird wraps up their North Island tour with three highly anticipated shows in their home region. Following a successful series of performances throughout the island, Turkey The Bird will bring their new album Men, Fish, Boat to Taranaki stages this November. Audiences can expect an intimate, lively musical experience featuring the trio’s signature folk tunes, rich harmonies, and infectious energy. After weeks on the road, Turkey The Bird will play three shows in Hāwera, New Plymouth, and Ōpunake, inviting hometown fans to celebrate the success of Men, Fish, Boat. This album, which includes 13 tracks and a special collaboration with Auckland’s ukulele band The Nukes, has already captured the hearts of listeners with its engaging storytelling and feel-good melodies.

Made up of Switzerland’s André Manella (guitar, bass, ukulele, percussion), Ireland’s Adrian Whelan (guitar, mandolin, bass, spoons), and New Zealand’s own Sol Bear Coulton (banjo, ukulele, slide guitar), Turkey The Bird brings together an eclectic range of musical influences and global backgrounds. Often described as a mix between Simon & Garfunkel harmonies and Mumford & Sons energy, their music has a uniquely Kiwi folk charm, capturing the spirit of the local community.
