Oceanspace, the six-piece indie psychedelic rock band, has officially dropped their highly anticipated self-titled EP, now available for streaming on all major platforms. This debut collection of five tracks blends lush, atmospheric psychedelia with the raw, energetic spirit of the band’s live shows, creating a captivating listening experience that reflects their true sound and creative vision.
Recorded at Surgery Studios in Wellington in a whirlwind two and a half days, the EP captures the spontaneous energy and experimental essence that defines Oceanspace’s approach to music. “Going into recording, we wanted to capture the rawness of our real shows and the essence of how our band started—jamming and experimenting together,” explains band member Emma Moore. “We managed to record all five songs in two and a half days and literally finished the last vocal overdubs as our taxi pulled up to take us to the airport. It felt pretty rockstar in my opinion.”
The EP was produced and mixed by Tiny Triumph Studios and mastered by Downbeat Mastering, resulting in a polished yet authentic sound that reflects the band's ability to blend psychedelic rock with electronic elements and experimental soundscapes.
