Scarlett Lashes is straight-up filthy, funny, and confusingly sexy. With patriarchy-crushing electro-pop tunes and dirty tales, prepare yourself for an in-your-face, genre-bending mix of performance art, comedy, and banging beats from Tāmaki Makaurau’s most spectacular “trash pop” queen.
Scarlett Lashes is a self-produced artist from Tāmaki Makaurau who has performed across Aotearoa, including two tours of small towns on the west coast of the South Island. In 2018, Scarlett Lashes performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her cabaret show “Ask Scarlett”. Scarlett has wowed audiences at Grrl Fest, Motat WTF, Welcome to Nowhere Festival, Chrononphonium Festival and Kiwiburn with her high-energy interactive performances. Currently, Scarlett is working hard on an EP which will be released in early 2025.
Scarlett is the brainchild of Jess Haugh (Music Producer/Audio Engineer), who produces, records and mixes all her own music. Jess likes to experiment with sampling and synth sounds to get a unique sound for Scarlett Lashes. Jess has produced and directed a number of music videos that capture the character and performance of Jess’s alter ego Scarlett Lashes adding a bit of humour and wildness to Aotearoa’s music scene.
