Hot off the heels of her sophomore album release Little Triggers, Aotearoa triple-threat Sally Stockwell has today shared a gorgeous new music video for Uncovering Me!
Starring Sally and her two daughters, Uncovering Me is the final installment in a trilogy of music videos for the Little Triggers project - which intimately explores the Ōtautahi-based artist’s journey through motherhood and creative repression. Today’s release also further cements Sally’s reach in her poignant messaging - transcending medium and spotlighting her talents across music, dance and on screen.
“The making of all three music videos was really special for me,” says Sally. “Including my daughters and filming in our Auckland family home - just before we moved back to my home town of Christchurch /Ōtautahi after 20 years, the whole experience had a great synergy to it, blending my work background in TV and film with my music and my family life.”
The Uncovering Me music video, as well as the videos for previous singles Far & Wide and Village, was filmed alongside longtime collaborators Jacquie Nairn (Director) and David Paul (DOP).
“They are both hugely experienced and helped pull together an incredible gem of a crew for a self-funded shoot. The entire film crew generously supported the project out of love and belief in its potential. I’m immensely grateful to them, especially in these challenging times for the arts community.”
The liberating new music video further illustrates the thumping, anthemic, and determined vow of self discovery that is Uncovering Me - yet another testament to Sally’s talent for approaching the sensitive and important subject matter scattered throughout Little Triggers.
Sally Stockwell is known for her work in TV (Shortland Street, Outrageous Fortune), Film, and her electric theatre shows - which have toured the country and seen performances at Splore, Auckland Festival of Arts, The Ōtautahi Tiny Festival and Taranaki Arts Festival. Sally’s latest work on stage has been her solo show We’ve Got So Much To Talk About - which inspired the stunning 11-track album Little Triggers.
Fans will not want to miss the brand new music video and album from bona fide talent Sally Stockwell!
