Multi-award winning, top-ten charting, Aotearoa band Villainy emerge with their first new music in over 2 years - the summer anthem Miles Away.
Unashamedly ambitious, this is a driving and triumphant return marking the beginning of a new era for the much lauded act.
Villainy have long been known as the party starters and with Miles Away they once again deliver.
With over a decade in the game, Villainy are one of New Zealand’s most beloved and successful rock bands.
Villainy burst onto the scene in 2012 with their debut album Mode. Set. Clear.. The album debuted top ten on the NZ Albums Chart, had three Radioscope New Zealand Rock Radio Chart number ones, Alligator Skin, Gather Yourselves and Another Time, and won Villainy ‘Best Rock Album’ at the Aotearoa Music Awards.
Dead Sight followed up in 2015. Debuting top 5 on the NZ Albums Chart. The single Safe Passage hit #1 on the Radioscope New Zealand Rock Chart and Villainy won their second award for ‘Best Rock Album’ at the Aotearoa Music Awards.
The band released their third album Raised in the Dark in 2019. Hitting #2 on the NZ Albums Chart, with singles Dreams and -CUT- each going number one on the Radioscope New Zealand Rock Radio Chart. This album yet again landed the band ‘Best Rock Artist’ at the Aotearoa Music Awards, completing a hat trick.
Stalwarts of the live scene, the band have supported heavyweight acts like AC/DC, Incubus, The Offspring, and Billy Talent as well as appearing at festivals including Big Day Out and Homegrown, and numerous sold out shows and tours over the past decade.
