Over 100 bands have now competed in the
Battle of the Bands2010 National Championship.
The last TWO Regional Final shows will now determine the
2010 National Final Line up…
Throughout July and August, just over 100 bands have battled it out in multiple live events up and down the country, competing for their place in the NATIONAL FINAL coming up next month. Some fantastic new talent has been unearthed at well attended live events in NZ’s best music venues.
Regional Finals have already taken place in Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Auckland and Canterbury, producing the first of the National Finalist bands.

The winning band will record a single at York Street Studios, as well as receive fantastic musical equipment prizes from Jansen, Audio Technica and Allen & Heath. VENUES
The country’s best Live Music Venues hosted Battle of the Bands events. Juice Bar, Kings Arms and Stampede in Auckland, Bodega in Wellington, Al’s Bar in Christchurch, BrewersBar in Mount Maunganui & The Outback Inn in Hamilton.
VOTING
Throughout the regional play offs, results have been a well received 50/50 mix of judges and on the night audience votes. With Vodafone and Run the Red, fans are now able to TXT vote (Free with Vodafone, 20c with Other Networks) for their favourite National Final band. Results will be a mixture of judges and TXT votes; so everyone Nationwide has a chance to have their say…TXT voting will commence from Sept 6th.
