Alpine Springs, Lake Tekapo has postponed its concert ‘Under the Big Sky,’ which was scheduled to be held on Saturday 26 March.
Alpine Springs Director Karl Burtscher says many of the musicians and suppliers involved in the concert are from Christchurch and need to focus on the needs of their families and neighbourhoods - so the decision was taken to postpone.
“Our hearts and thoughts are for the residents of Christchurch and of course we are terribly concerned for our musicians, friends and relatives who are having to pick up their lives following this disaster. It seemed right to postpone the concert until springtime,” he said.
Ticket holders are being refunded.
“Those who bought tickets through eventfinder have their money back already and we’re currently refunding others through bookit. We are keen to get ticket holders money back to them as soon as possible and will announce a re-scheduled date when appropriate.”
