4:20 - the long awaited Hip-Hop club is finally here! Situated at 373 Karangahape Road, Central City.
The 'old space' has undergone a major refit courtesy of SJ Designs. The look is a mix of raw concrete walls and clean, basic lines. A window runs the length of the back of the club offereing a great view of Auckland's harbour - beautiful at night.
The club sports two 'Battle Booths', one of which can be removed to accommodate live performance. Both are fitted with Vestax Samurai mixers that boast digital cross-faders for greater clarity in the mix. Nexo have provided a sound system that features smaller than average speakers with twice the power. Sub-speakers are actually set in the wall, as well as on the ceiling. This creates a surround bass frequency that really does rain down on you whilst minimising 'rattle' from the building structure.
Our careful selection of staff will ensure that everyone is made to feel welcome at4:20, as this is truly a 'family affair'.
The resident nights to check:
Wednesdays - Dawn Raid, showcasing established and upcoming talent.
Thursdays - Junior, Nedsta and the Ruby girls hosting.
Fridays - Skakin' Sounds from Slave, Submariner and others.
Saturdays - Electic, anything goes mish-mash with 4130 and others rotating.
