Joining the Kiwi FM team in July 2011 are some of New Zealand’s most well known music personalities, including writer and reviewer Sam Wicks, FOUR Television host Shannon Ryan and Loop Recordings founder Mikee Tucker.
Sam Wicks – Voices from the Wilderness – Tuesdays at 3pm
One beautiful thing about New Zealand is that we have an abundance of people making music for the love of it. They don’t call themselves professionals - they are simply musicians doing what they love to do. That’s why Sam is here, to play, support and champion these Kiwi battlers.
Shannon Ryan – The List – Tuesdays at 3.30pm and replayed throughout the week
One of the hottest properties in broadcasting right now, Shannon Ryan is joining the Kiwi FM team to host ‘The List’, featuring those things Kiwi FM feel need a bit of attention. It could be songs that start with B, the Top 5 NZ songs of 2010, Top 5 touring bands in the next week, or the Best Rap Songs.
Mikee Tucker – High Noon Tea – Fridays at 3pm
Mikee Tucker is one of the greatest supporters of New Zealand music in the industry, running Loop Recordings since 2001 and releasing hundreds of titles, including the Fly My Pretties Series. He takes over the reigns of Kiwi FM’s flagship show – ‘High Noon Tea’. Tucker was there as the “Wellington Sound” emerged and there is no one in the country better placed to host a show dedicated to Dub, Roots and Reggae.
Karl Steven also returns to host ‘The Kiwi House’ and Sam Collins and Fleur Jack bring you two brand new shows as well. ‘Exhibit A’, a classic albums showcase and ‘The Lounge’, an hour of live music every week.
So tune in (and stay there) for Kiwi FM’s exciting new line up.
