Garage Issue #5 is now available, again! You can download the PDF version of the music zine here:
This issue focus' is on Chris Knox, which saw editor Richard Langston hitch-hiking to Auckland at the time to interview him and the cover also features a photo of Knox from his Enemy days. There is also noticeably more of an international feel to the zine with articles on Jesus and The Mary Chain, Cramps and Roky Erickson.
Plus, in this week’s issue of Volume Magazine (dedicated to Flying Nun Records’ 30th Anniversary) journalist Richard Langston and Roger Shepherd go head to head in the ‘Talking Heads’ section. They talk about the how Garage all began, the scene that it grew up in and music journalism in New Zealand in the mid-1980s. Listen to the full audio of the conversation here
Read a copy of the special Flying Nun Records issue of VOLUME Magazine here. The artwork on the cover of the magazine is done by the brilliant Henrietta Harris and is also the cover art for the new Flying Nun Compilation ‘TALLY HO!’ out next month.
