Outward Sound is pleased to announce the 4th round of grant recipients for 2011.
Two Stage Two grants were awarded.
Avalanche City - Stage 2.
The worldwide roll out continues for Warner Music International Priority artists Avalanche City. Fresh from a Japanese/Australian promotional tour, gaining the band Japanese chart activity with their release Love Love Love (currently sitting at #21 on the Japanese Hot 100 Airplay) and Gold sales status in Australia (35,000), the band are now shifting their focus to the United States of America.
Having recently signed up to Marty Diamond's Paradigm booking agency the band will be undertaking a promotional tour through the US in support of the release of their debut album Our New Life Above The Ground, which also includes a support tour for Warner Music Grammy nominated Latino act Ximena Sarinana.
Paradigm have an impressive roster which includes Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Toby Keith, Aerosmith, Phish, Will.I.Am, The Dead, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Marty Diamond is the band's personal representative.
Cut Off Your Hands - Stage 2.
Following on from the US release of Cut Off Your Hands' critically acclaimed second album Hollow, the band - with support from an Outward Sound Stage Two Grant - will be undertaking an extensive thirty-one date US tour. This tour will also be including appearances at SXSW 2012.
Cut Off Your Hands have put together an impressive team around this release including US label Frenchkiss (Passion Pit/The Drums/The Dodos) and US management company TBK Management, with their tour being handled by booking agent Flower Booking who have been producing concert tours in North America, Australia, and Asia for over twenty years.
To highlight the tour, their US label Frenchkiss will be releasing a special addition of Hollow with an added EP of new material.
The Phoenix Foundation - Instant Action.
An Instant Action grant was awarded to The Phoenix Foundation to cover on ground costs related to an appearance on highly rated UK music show Later... With Jools Holland. With an estimated viewership of 1.5 million, this show is considered a major promotional coup. Also making an appearance this episode were Coldplay, Ryan Adams and The Waterboys.
