All songs and lyrics are available for your listening perusal on the APRA website (http://www.apra-amcos.co.nz/). Voting is now open to APRA members to determine the Top 5 songs- including the winner- of the year from the long-list of twenty, and a deluxe ‘Scrolls night out’ is up for grabs for a lucky voter.
The preliminary list above has been determined by an anonymous jury of APRA Members, and now the determination of the five finalists is handed over to the 8,000+ New Zealand APRA members – our nation’s songwriters and composers. Peer voting for the winner of the APRA Silver Scroll is based on songwriters recognising the outstanding achievements of their cohorts and honouring the craft of songwriting. The Top 5 will be announced early August.
Alongside the APRA Silver Scroll Award, presentations include the APRA Maioha Award and the SOUNZ Contemporary Award, recognising outstanding compositions in both Maori and Classical music, nods to the Most Performed Works here and overseas, and another surprise induction to the New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame.
This invite-only event will be held on Thursday 13 September at the Auckland Town Hall, and APRA are pleased to have Man O’ War Vineyards on board again as a sponsor.
