Five Datsuns Facts
1 They Rock
2 They Rock
3 They Rock
4 They Rock
5 They Rock
Yes! Si! Oui! They do indeed Rock! And, they do hail from Cambridge, a town with focus. A town where, much like the local thoroughbreds, the white gold runs strong. We all know that.
Fifth form geography over. Now for some Rockography 101...
For the last ten years The Datsuns have kept to what they do best. Taking their full tilt boogie to all corners of planet Earth , the rock has taken them to far flung destinations such as South East Asia, Chile, Argentina, Invercargill and Brazil. One of their most endearing qualities about The Datsuns is that they do not deliver bad shows - no excuses - NEVER! AND when the guys do phone it in, it's only for mum's birthday before they take the stage in some exotic destination. What more can be said about our finest, and most consistent international rock band ? Much like AC /DC and a good honey they are 'sweet as'. Their consistency cannot be denied . They have not bloated on any level , not adopted middle age men's 'rock chic' nor, lost any of their shaggy manes. Their vision has remained focussed - no name changing, no women's magazine tell-alls, no solo albums, no boring debauched tales, and no fucking over budgeted straight to DVD biopics (well not yet anyway). No reinventing the wheels of rock. This press release , much like a proverbial rock to whatever part of your body needs it now ... is to tell you ... They Rock!
Now, at the tail end of 2012 The Datsuns have launched the album they are most proud of to date. Recorded in Sweden at lead singer Dolf De Borst’s Gutterview studios, and at Neil Finn’s Roundhead studios in Auckland ‘Death Rattle Boogie’ took shape under the watchful hand of Nicke Andersson, ex member of Swedish hard-rockers, The Hellacopters. Suffice to say - "It rock's"
Joining The Datsuns will be the three uncategorized characters known as Rackets. Graduates from the Steiner School Of Rock one cannot be sure if they are going to be naked, playing in front of a glacier, making six videos with the proceeds of one NZ On Air grant, releasing 7 inches or having Chris Knox jump up with them. What could happen next ? Who knows?
The Datsuns new album Death Rattle Boogie out now on double LP / CD / or download.
