BW Campgrounds 2012

With acts like Shihad, Six60, Tiki Taane, Kora, David Dallas and State of Mind it’s no wonder that more than 14,000 young campers make the journey from around New Zealand to celebrate the last week of 2012 at BW Campgrounds. The seven day camping and music festival runs alongside the annual Rhythm & Vines music festival, as the biggest accommodation provider for the festival.

The setting for BW Campgrounds is in the sunny town of Gisborne, which boasts one of the prettiest backdrops in the country, along the golden sand Midway beach.

This year organizers have put together a programme of entertainment and activities bigger than ever before to attract more campers.

“New Zealand music is strong and we’ve identified the best of the best local acts to play the Jim Beam Soundshell at this year’s BW Camping festival. We’ve also ramped up the on-beach and on-campsite activities with even more fun things to do. The Bikini Jam is always a highlight along with Battle of the Beach (beach sports), plus there’s still more action yet to announce,”says BW Campgrounds Organizer Toby Burrows.

The modern camping experience at BW Campgrounds is second to none. Facilities onsite include flush toilets, hot showers, portaloos, cooking areas, Midori Powder Room for the ladies, food court plus much more.

"It's definitely shaping up to be the biggest year yet and we still have a small number of camping spots available. Make sure you purchase your ticket soon because you won’t want to be the one to miss out,"says Burrows.

Booking has been made easier this year with the addition of a BW Campgrounds ‘TXT’ service. Campers can text “BW“ to 244 and will receive a call with information on where to camp and which packages best suit their needs.

There are limited tickets still available; for guests who are seeking a chilled experience the best place to book is the ‘Schools’, while those gearing up for the full noise camping experience are recommended to stay at ‘Watson’ campgrounds.

Many of the BW Campgrounds guests will also head off to the infamous Rhythm & Vines to enjoy the biggest International acts over three days from December 29. Organizers of both festivals work closely to marry up the offerings with BW Campgrounds and R&V ticket combos available as well as daily buses operating between both, to ensure it’s a safe, secure and fun festival experience for all to enjoy.
