A young 'girl and her guitar,' Bristow left Southland New Zealand with a dream of making her way as an international touring and recording artist. This is, exactly, what she has done! Her journey has taken her across the globe, more recently residing and touring in the United States. The past two years have been momentous for Bristow who has shown the grit, determination, drive of a true blue Kiwi artist. Bristow has opened for international stars (Tommy Emmanuel, Marc Cohn, John Oates, John Waite, Bettye Lavette, B.J Thomas, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, Charlie Robison, Rick Springfield, Bob Schneider, Jimmy Lafave, Euge Groove, Ruthie Foster and Howard Jones.) Traveling the world like a rolling stone, Jackie spends most of her free time on a plane or highway as she makes her way to centre stage.
In the summer of 2012 Bristow packed her belongings into her car and embarked on a 3 month U.S. road trip, crossing the desert highways of Texas,New Mexico, Arizona, Southern & Northern California before returning to the plains of West Texas and onto Austin. Jackie Bristow has truly earned the moniker of a "Kiwi Road Warrior!"
Despite hectic & successful touring schedules, Bristow found time to write and record her next Album. In November 2012 Bristow joined acclaimed Producer/Drummer Brady Blade (Blade Studios) in Louisiana & laid down the tracks for her Fourth album due for release mid 2013.
The life of a touring & recording artist once seemed a world away from Jackie's hometown of Gore. But life has come full circle and Jackie is home again for her New Zealand summer tour. Jackie writes from the heart. Her love of New Zealand shines through her voice and songs as she shares her stories far and wide.
Jackie's songs are featured in Australian and New Zealand film and television shows, Go Girls, The Secret Life Of Us, Home And Away, Outrageous Fortune, Shortland Street, and Go Big. Her song "This is Australia" won Tourism Australia's Song Competition, and was featured in a worldwide promotional campaign.
At once, heartfelt and sophisticated, Jackie Bristow combines subtle but beautiful melodies and hooks that hypnotise the listener, demand complete surrender, and then stick around with the backbone of a real friend. Jackie's latest album, FREEDOM, features her "soulful voice, acoustic guitar with pop accessiblities and folk sensibilities".
A true performer Bristow comfortably and confidently steps onto the world class stage.
