THE POWERSTATION, AUCKLAND - THURSDAY 14TH MARCH 2013

HOT RIGHT NOW!!!

Stop Press – Just Confirmed – When we got the chance for this last minute, one-off NZ exclusive we jumped! Show day is in just 2 weeks – we’ve pegged the ticket price to an exceptional value $49 and ensured it’s available all-ages, with a fully licensed bar for the over-18s. This is one to grab. NOW! Word !!!

UK number 1 hit-maker Rita Ora is set to play an exclusive one-off show at Auckland’s The Powerstation this March. Joining her will be her musical pal and collaborator, producer DJ Fresh. Amongst a myriad of personal successes, this dynamic duo was responsible for double-handedly creating the UK number 1 smash hit, and certified summer anthem ‘Hot Right Now’. Following up with two more UK No1’s and NZ Top 10’s, including ‘How We Do (Party)’ which achieved Platinum status in NZ, ‘R.I.P. featuring Tinie Tempah, and current NZ radio hit ‘Radioactive’, it’s been an incredible two years for the UK’s fastest rising pop star.

Her debut album, Ora, personally signed by Jay-Z to his Roc Nation label, debuted at Number 1 in UK, and has established Rita as a major player. The critics agree...she won the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) award for Best Newcomer in 2012 and was nominated for two MTV Europe 2012 Awards and three Brit 2013 Awards.

Live, Rita has supported US superstar Drake and UK rock giants Coldplay on their European tour as well as playing at every major UK festival and event this summer.  If that’s not enough, this young heavyweight has collaborated with a veritable who’s who of the music world, with names such as will.i.am, Chase & Status, Diplo, Switch and Tinie Tempah having queued up to work with the talented young songstress.

DJ Fresh is credited as one of the founding fathers of Drum & Bass - and rightly so. His live shows and production skills alike continue (since the late 90s) to roll out in authentic fashion. Nextlevelism (which hit our shores late last year) is no exception to the rule. His single, “The Feeling” covertly pushes the boundaries Fresh has never had a problem crossing. He’s also the first ever drum and bass artist to score a UK number 1 single. Impressive? We think so!

Rita and Fresh are heading down under to participate in Australia’s Future Music Festival, and we’re lucky to have confirmed a last-minute exclusive one-off NZ appearance by the pair at Auckland’s Powerstation.  In order to make this show accessible to all comers, the tickets are priced at only $48 for under 18’s and $49 for over 18’s and The Powerstation will be set up in a format to welcome both age groups.

Tickets on Sale Friday 1st March 9am from Ticketmaster.
