Dreaming of a Night Mango is the mysteriously titled 4th album from travelling troubadour, Tim Guy – set for release on April 5th in New Zealand via Fuse Group Australia.
A laid-back and intimate recording, Tim has kept the elements simple and raw, resulting in a 10 track long player reminiscent of little waves lapping upon the shoreline.
Inspiration for the new album came whilst spending time at a friend’s house in Northern New South Wales, where balmy nights were passed on the balcony upon the Tweed River, listening to records. Heading back to Melbourne, Guy recorded at his home studio looking across to the old Pentridge Prison Wall.
“We lived there for a year with the sole purpose of making an album. The wall was a massive imposing figure and definitely provided a backdrop for the record. During the day, birds would dip down inside the walls and at night the moon would loom large, shooting its light through the old watchtowers.”
The second single from the album, Many People I Know is a delicate, understated track written when Guy had just moved back to Melbourne from Auckland and he was merely a stranger in a beautiful city.

Dreaming of a Night Mango marks a long journey, both in travels across countries, and musically, as Tim has found his home and settles in to release the album.
