New Zealand born British raised Daniel Bedingfield's pop wizardry earned him a BRIT Award, six UK Top 10 singles and four million album sales from 2001 to 2004.
Nine years later he has returned with new genre splicing, pulse-pounding music that brims with his distinctive melodic sense on a seven track EP due for release in New Zealand.
Stop The Traffik – Secret Fear will be available everywhere you can buy digital music in New Zealand on 5th July 2013.
The first single from the EP, Secret Fear, was accompanied by a controversial and highly lauded video which has won best music video at the Miami Short Film Festival, Indie Fest, and the Vegas Cine Fest as well as a special jury prize at the Amsterdam Film Festival, and honors at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival.
The anthemic new single Every Little Thing is intended to inspire hope amidst the manifold tragedies we have been recently facing as a planet.
The rest of the EP features the heartbreaking ballad Don’t Write Me Off, and the seductive and soulful Way With Words nestled in amongst deliriously catchy and upbeat tracks O.V.E.R.U., and brutally honest Naysayer. As a bonus track, Daniel has included a live, extended recording of Way With Words.
This new material was recorded on his M Box in bathtubs, state parks, parking lots, hotels and studios all over the world. Ambitious, bold, brazen even; with this EP Daniel Bedingfield is taking a distinctly different approach from his former pop-loving chart topping debut and venturing into brave new territory to carve out his claim as the wild and diverse singer songwriter he's always been.
A portion of the proceeds from Stop the Traffik – Secret Fear will benefit Stop The Traffik, the organization that Daniel co-founded in 2006 to raise awareness about human trafficking worldwide. For more information, visit http://www.stopthetraffik.org/
