The first single taken from Beneath The Weissenborn is the hauntingly sparse Jurassic Park Theme which was released digitally July 5th 2013. Immediately after release, the world became infatuated, including New Zealand TV3 reporter, David Farrier - WATCH THE DAVID FARRIER INTERVIEW WITH THOMAS ON NIGHTLINE

"This song is the best thing that's happened this year".

The official video for Jurassic Park Theme received rave reviews online - WATCH THE OFFICAL VIDEO FOR JURASSIC PARK THEME SONG HERE

"Truly amazing." "A master at lap steel... Thomas Oliver should have his name in lights already." "You are the best Weissenborn player in the world." " Wow, what a masterpiece!" "Amazingly beautiful!". The video has already received over 76,000 views, and numbers are climbing.

Best known for his flagship band, The Thomas Oliver Band, whose debut album Baby, I'll Play was awarded "iTunes Best Blues & Roots Album of 2011", Thomas is also internationally recognised as a leading player of the Weissenborn lap-slide guitar.

Beneath The Weissenborn is the world's first full-length, all instrumental, all Weissenborn album. "This entire album is made using Weissenborns. Excluding the bonus track, there are no other instruments used. I wanted to explore the sonic possibilities of the instrument in the same way that I wanted to explore its harmonic possibilities. I wanted to tell a Weissenborn story." — Thomas Oliver

Thomas Oliver is an artist whose musical accolades venture deep into places where most singer-songwriters would never be sited. Thomas's solo acoustic performances are dynamic, compelling and unique, and meld Roots, Rock and Blues. Thomas has supported a legion of distinguished artists including Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, George Thorogood, Tom Jones, Cold Chisel, Fat Freddy's Drop and Gin Wigmore, and The Thomas Oliver Band's recent summer tour with Jimmy Barnes saw Thomas personally invited to play his signature lap steel with Jimmy Barnes himself. Thomas has also developed a reputation as a vocalist in the realm of Drum & Bass, having collaborated with a number of international and local producers, including Black Sun Empire, Rido, Concord DawnTREi and State Of Mind, and boasting releases on prestigious labels, including Goldie's own Metalheadz.
