MELVINS have released a veritable ‘shitload’ (their words) of albums over the past 30 years, the most recent being a covers collection called Everybody Loves Sausages.“Has it really only been 30 years?” asked singer/guitar player Buzz Osborne. “Dang! Thanks to everyone who’s been there for us! It’s been an exciting trip and I probably should have listened and learned more. I apologize for anything I've ever done wrong and for anything I’m going to do wrong… Ha!”

The Melvins' 19th studio album Tres Cabrones, is due out November via Ipecac Recordings.  Tres Cabrones sees a reunion with original drummer Mike Dillard  -  (Drummer Dale Crover, who replaced Dillard back in 1984, moved to bass for the album’s recording.) “Tres Cabrones is as close as we’re willing to get to the Melvins 1983 line-up,” said frontman Buzz Osborne in a statement. “The best part is it’s all new songs. I specifically wrote tunes that would be good for these guys to play and it worked out great. We had no interest in rehashing tunes we wrote 30 years ago and chose instead to simply create NEW songs. It worked out perfectly.”

HELMET, fronted by Page Hamilton, have been playing their own brand of heavy music around since 1989, putting their offbeat time signatures and dense chords to tape and releasing 7 studio albums and touring the world constantly. It’s this intelligent musicality that also led Page to work on scores for numerous Hollywood films (including S.W.A.T, Titus, and Saw) as well as providing guest guitar for artists such as David Bowie,Joe Henry and Therapy?. Their album Meantime (released in 1992) bridged the gaps between metal, hardcore and grunge and has gone on to become a quintessential album of it’s time

This December, prepare to have your ear-holes pummeled as these two legendary bands land at a venue near you!

Announcing the support act for The Melvins:

SOLID GOLD HELL

With an impressive lineage, featuring members of SPUD and Jean-Paul Satre Experience (JPSE), the band came together in the early nineties and quickly gained a following for their formidable live show. With an aggressive, sludgey industrial sound, often compared to the Jesus Lizard, they released two albums via Flying Nun - Singin' Hot Murder (1994) and The Blood and The Pity (1996) - before dissolving in 1997. The band reemerged in 2011 for a Flying Nunn 30th Anniversary show, and at the start of this year the band performed at another Flying Nun event but it wasn't until September 2013 that the influential Auckland band Solid Gold Hell returned to the stage for their first headline show in over a decade...
