Australian-born and South Auckland-raised, Tyson Tyler has worked hard to perfect his musical style. At just 15, he began writing and producing his own music, at 17 he was accepted to attend the Dawnraid "Str8 From Tha Streetz 2" music programme, graduating three months later with his first professionally recorded song, South Auckland Anthem co-produced by Chong Nee.
Already active in the NZ Hip-Hop community for over a decade, with 10 mix-tapes and a debut album Reality Cheque under his belt, his new EP, Victory Road is set for release on Friday, October 25, with an album to follow next year.
Victory Road is a brief introduction to Tyson Tyler's journey as a recording artist. It outlines his struggle to make it in the music business and his inspiration, aspiration and ambition to succeed. Victory Road is his road to victory.
With the aid of producers, Yorel, Tenei and N.O.X. Tyson's songs bring his stories to life as they traverse themes of chasing the dream, the obstacles one must overcome to get there and ultimately achieving it.
