BRIAN MCKNIGHT & BAND

ANNOUNCE ONE NEW ZEALAND SHOW

***MORE THAN WORDS WORLD TOUR***

R&B icon and Grammy Award nominated artist BRIAN MCKNIGHT is returning to New Zealand for one show only on Thursday 27th February 2014 at the ASB Theatre in Auckland.  His last visit in 2011 saw him deliver a mesmerising acoustic performance at the Civic Theatre.  This time around McKnight returns with his full seven-piece band, to showcase new songs from his latest album ‘More Than Words’ as well as performing all his hits.  New Zealand audiences should prepare to be amazed by an urban show like no other with the distinctive harmonious sound that is Brian McKnight.

A singer, songwriter and producer, McKnight has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.  With a talent that spans across nine instruments, he has seven certified Platinum albums over the span of his career.  McKnight’s work has earned him 16 Grammy Award nominations and seen him collaborate with some of urban music’s biggest names including Mariah Carey, P.Diddy, Justin Timberlake, Nelly and Australia’s Guy Sebastian.  McKnight’s career has solidified him as a true icon in R&B’s constantly evolving music scene.

More Than Words is his 15th studio album to date, which includes his collaboration with Colbie Callat. The first single, Sweeter debuted at #2 on Urban Radio when released earlier this year and features his signature heartfelt lyrics and melodic tempo.  The album takes long-time fans back to the roots of Brian McKnight.

Returning from a 16 city US tour, McKnight will head to Australasia before continuing on the road to Europe and Asia.  Fans can always expect something different at each show with a set list featuring career-cementing hits such as Back At One and Shoulda Been Lovin’ You mixed with new classics More than Words and Sweeter.

“It’s difficult because you always want to let your fans hear your new material, however fans aren’t coming to hear that material they’re just coming to hear all the classic songs they love.  I always try to mix both and that keeps everyone happy,” says Brian McKnight.

Not stopping at just a career in music, McKnight has hosted his own morning talk show ‘The Brian McKnight Morning Show’ on popular US jazz radio station KTWV.  With the show being highly successful, McKnight went on the host another radio talk show ‘The Brian McKnight Show’ followed by a TV show with the same name.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see one of the greatest singer-songwriters of our time perform all your favourite R&B classics as well as songs from his new album More Than Words when he brings his iconic urban musical style to New Zealand.
