She hails from Wanaka, has tasted the dream in Nashville and now Jody Direen returns to New Zealand, bringing sexy back to country music in her homeland with the new single - Tattoo.
Recorded at Quad Studios and East Side Manor Studios in Nashville, Tattoo was co-written with Shania Twain’s touring lead guitarist Randall Waller and engineered by Howard Willing who has worked with artists such as Sheryl Crow, The Smashing Pumpkins, Selena Gomez and Lisa Marie Presley.
Tattoo is the second single of an album laden with inescapable hooks, due for release later in 2014. Ready to stand toe to toe with the big hitters in the world of country pop/rock music Jody Direen’s debut single Loud reached #13 on the Official Australian Country Music Top 20, #6 on the All Australian Country Top 20 and still climbing.
Continuing on with her international success Jody performed in Australia at CMC Rocks alongside Kellie Pickler and also opened for American rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd in Queenstown earlier in 2014. With a nomination as Female Country Artist of The Year in 2014s NZ Country Music Awards and the release of Tattoo, Jody is ready and rearing to give New Zealand a taste of the finest pop country she has to offer.
Tattoo is due for release on June 20th and is available to pre order from iTunes now.
