Die! Die! Die! and DZ Deathrays announce two joint headline NZ shows!

28 May 2014 - 1 Comment

95BFM, Phantom Billstickers & Under The Radar proudly present the first ever joint tour of DZ Deathrays & Die! Die! Die! Both bands are stoked to be playing with each other in two of New Zealand's premier rock music venues this June.

DZ Deathrays are a fearsome punk duo whose live performance has to be seen to be believed. The band have come a long way from their beginnings in the Brisbane garage scene, honing their raucous sounds at house parties all the way to winning best rock album at the 2012 ARIA Awards for their debut Bloodstreams.

They've since received critical acclaim from everyone from Pitchfork to Zane Lowe, and have toured internationally with Foo Fighters, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Crystal Castles and Sleigh Bells, and played festivals around the globe (Reading & Leeds, UK; SXSW, USA; A Perfect Day Festival, Italy; Big Day Out Australia, Laneway; Australia).

Their new album Black Rat channels their trademark combination of a sound that is brutal, fun, and menacingly dark while displaying their growing maturity and songcraft. Having played Campus A Low Hum in 2010 and Cassette & Bodega in 2011 at punk festival Two Piece Fest, Shane Parsons (guitar/vocals) & Simon Ridley (drums/vocals) are ecstatic to return to NZ with fellow noise merchants Die! Die! Die!

Die! Die! Die! need no introduction in this country, being one of our most beloved live bands. We all know the story of their Steve Albini recorded debut album and their subsequent success around the world.

Die! Die! Die! spent 2013 touring in the USA, Europe and beyond, embodying a vitality long since absent from the recent rock and punk circuits. Reminiscent of the spirit and sounds of Black Flag, Pixies, the Wipers, Wire, and Bailterspace, Die! Die Die!’s unfiltered and powerful stage show has earned them a reputation as one of the most energetic and hardest-working bands around. Their last tour on home soil was a sell out across the country.

Die! Die! Die! are set to release their new album S W I M August 15th.

Don't miss out in what will be two nights of thrilling and relentless sonic mayhem as these two excellent bands battle it out on stage.
