THE PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR TO REACH AUCKLAND FOR TWO SHOWS ONLY IN DECEMBER 2014
SWEDISH POP SENSATION TOVE LO ANNOUNCED AS SUPPORT ACT
After selling an incredible 23 shows for her 2014 Australian tour, international superstar Katy Perry has announced that THE PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR will head to New Zealand in December, playing two shows only at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th December.
Presented by Dainty Group, the tour is in support of Katy’s smash hit album Prism, which debuted at number one in New Zealand, 29 weeks on the charts and still counting. Now certified Platinum, Prism produced the huge hit singles Roar which topped the NZ singles chart for 11 consecutive weeks, the double-platinum Dark Horse and hit singles Unconditionally, Walking On Air and new single Birthday. In the US, Dark Horse is Katy’s 9th #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and her 11th #1 hit on American pop radio, an unstoppable run of smash songs the world over.
Paul Dainty, Chairman of Dainty Group said “We are honoured to be promoting Katy’s tour in New Zealand. She is the hottest star in the world, her single and album sales are staggering and New Zealanders adore her.”
Advance tickets for THE PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR will be available to all Visa Credit, Debit and Prepaid cardholders via the Visa Entertainment Pre-sale, from 9am Tuesday 3 June 2014 until 5pm Wednesday 4 June 2014 or until presale tickets sell out at http://www.visaentertainment.co.nz/
The Prismatic World Tour is a visual extravaganza, a truly stunning show with lavish production as Katy returns as one of the biggest superstar artists of our times. The state-of-the art stage, specifically designed by Katy for this tour, allows her to get closer to her fans than ever before. The one-of-a-kind set design will provide concert-goers with a truly magical experience from every angle in the arena.
The 11-time GRAMMY® nominated singer has connected in New Zealand in the same breath-taking way as around the world. She is a mega-platinum selling artist, with 8 x #1 singles, 2 x #1 albums and has spent an astounding total of almost 4 years on the NZ Album Charts across 3 albums!
In the USA Katy Perry holds the record for the most consecutive weeks in the singles charts in history, and is equal only to Michael Jackson for having the most #1 singles on one album with tracks California Gurls, Teenage Dream, E.T, Firework and Last Friday Night. She was the first artist to have 5 songs sell over five million digital units and in 2013 was the highest-ranking female on the Global Recording Artists list of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
The Prismatic World Tour is Katy’s first tour since 2011’s sold-out California Dreams Tour, which was the subject of 2012’s 3D feature film, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, the fifth biggest music documentary of all time.
To top it all off, just last week Katy Perry was voted ‘Top Female Artist for 2014’ in the Billboard Music Awards.
TOVE LO
Opening artist for Katy Perry’s New Zealand shows is Swedish singer/songwriter TOVE LO, whose new EP Truth Serum peaked at #1 on the Swedish Album charts in March 2014, with her new single, Stay High, debuting at #6 on the UK singles chart, the remix of which is currently sitting at #3 on the New Zealand Singles Chart. She has written songs for a number of artists including Girls Aloud and Icona Pop. Tove Lo is considered by many to be one of the most promising new acts to emerge on the world music scene in 2014.

Both shows will go on sale simultaneously and it is not possible to add any further dates. Last time Katy Perry played in New Zealand she quickly sold out two nights at Vector Arena. This time if you blink whilst waiting for tickets, they will probably be gone.
Christmas has come early for New Zealand, and the show of the year is perfectly timed to party!
