As the wind across the harbour rears within moments from a soft caress to a brutal howl, so too does the music of Luckless.
In preparation for the release of their new album Vindication Blues, out July 11th, Luckless are pleased to introduce their new single When You Asked Her to Stay, a succinct, sonic, up tempo rock song, marking a departure from the previous slow burner, Road Retreats.
A song reminiscent of a Sparklehorse anthem, Ivy Rossiter’s distinct vocals, a wall of electric guitar, feedback and clever chord changes etch this track to memory.
The feverish black-and-white stop-motion video was created by Ruffell Productions, featuring director Tim McInnes with breathtaking stills photography by Sabin Holloway:

Luckless are set to play the four main centres this July in celebration of the Vindication Blues release. Currently alongside Rossiter’s voice and guitar is Luckless’s returning drummer Logan Compain (Carthaginian, Bond St Bridge), with helping hands from Rob Collins on bass (Dictaphone Blues, The Heavy Jones Trio) and Ben Eldridge also on guitar (Warlords Of Atlantis, The Heavy Jones Trio).
