Bringing her bedroom studio in to the Blue Barn recording studio, Estère and her musical companion Lola (mpc) dressed appropriately for the session and turned her live set in to what was a pop up Pyjama Party of the Electric Blue Witch Hop kind.
Performing Patchwork Soldier, the third track off her self-released debut album, Estère explains the subject of the song, "Our life experiences are like different pieces of a patchwork quilt sewn together. Sometimes we need to give and receive help when trying to stitch up our ripped seams”.

In April 2014 Estère released her debut self-titled album as a free download via Bandcamp. The album gained praise from International Blogs such as AfroPunk as well as receiving 2000 downloads within the first month of the release.
Fans of Estère applied for the opportunity to be part of an intimate and exclusive audience of only fifty at a secret location that was revealed on the day of the show. The venue was Blue Barn Studios in Newtown and offered fans the unique experience of watching a performance in a working studio environment. Preceeding the show, fans were treated to an open discussion between Estère and esteemed Music Journalist, Martyn Pepperell.
Of her experience performing at Aston Rd Sessions Estère says`"Aston Rd Sessions was a humbling opportunity to perform for an audience in an organic and intimate atmosphere. It felt like everybody in the room was my dear friend."
The sessions were recorded and filmed in front of a live audience over three consecutive nights in the heart of Wellington city in May. Each night featured one local artist, Estére, Louis Baker, and Thomas Oliver, who performed a selection of new and previously released songs.
Further sessions will be revealed in coming weeks with performances by Louis Baker, Thomas Oliver and more from Estère.
