Local Kiwi band, Ophelia, have released a light-hearted and quirky video for their new single, Eden. Watch it here.
Eden is very open to interpretation, but the song was originally written about a walk up Auckland's Mt Eden. The lyrics describe how the mountain provides a breath-taking view of Auckland city from a peaceful distance despite being slowly taken over by people and tourism.
Recorded in a home studio and mixed at Roundhead studio with Jordan Stone (Wilco, The Datsuns), Eden was mastered at 301 by Ben Faggans (Flume, Rufus).
Ophelia is the creation of composer/producer Patrick Shanahan and singer/song-writer Alex Louise. The pair began working together in late 2012 recording and mixing some of Alex's original folk/acoustic tracks. Changing pace, they started experimenting with writing collaboratively to produce more electronically based tunes. Drawing on influences from dubstep, indie/folk and orchestral soundscapes, Ophelia began to take shape.
Eden is released on September 19 and can be pre-ordered now from iTunes.
