British-based New Zealand-born singer Daniel Beddingfield was reportedly injured in a car accident in Whangarei today.

The 24-year-old pop star, who has had three number one hits in Britain, suffered moderate injuries and was treated at Whangarei Hospital this afternoon, TV3 news reported.

No further details were available and Bedingfield would not take calls from media today.

Bedingfield's debut album Gotta Get Thru This has sold almost three million copies worldwide.
