Cairo Knife Fight is comprised of drummer/singer Nick Gaffaney (a man who has played with many of New Zealand’s leading songwriters); and a revolving cast of some of the most accomplished guitarists and songwriters around.
These include Joel Haines, one of the country’s most prolific composers and live performers; longtime band partner Aaron Tokona (AHoriBuzz); and special writing collaborations with American music legend Mark Lanegan, local icon Laugton Kora and Los Angeles writers/producers Tyler Fournames and John Anderson.
The band, who formed in 2009, return with their new single No Longer Silent, a simple song about people not being what they seem. From the powerful hiding their intentions from an electorate to the daily interactions we have with co- workers or loved ones, no one ever really knows who they're genuinely looking at. Possibly not even in the mirror.
Taken from the band’s upcoming album which is due for release early next year, No Longer Silent is available to pre-order oniTunes now, officially going on sale from Friday, November 14.
Cairo Knife Fight are supporting Shihad on the FVEY tour in December alongside Airbourne and I Am Giant.
