Music News - Tipare takes a stand with her new single 'My Decision'

Auckland based artist Tipare is pleased to announce a follow up to her previous single Backbiters, her brand new single, My Decision.
My Decision is a smouldering slow jam with a laidback reggae rhythm, belying the powerful sentiment of the lyrics and Tipare’s commanding voice.
Written by NY based Easy Star All-Stars collaborators Ticklah and Michael Goldwasser, Tipare says she was initially attracted to the straight forward story telling.
"I appreciated the determination and unapologetic nature of the lyrics, but I wanted to layer it with darker musical elements to emote the internal complexities that go along with betrayal."
Tipare worked with New Zealand musicians Laughton Kora to contribute additional production to the song, and Fran Kora to add haunting background vocals to bring this concept to life. The result is Tipare's unique version of resurrection from a bad relationship.
The video for My Decision was shot by Russian
photographer Tamara
Azizian and directed by Tipare. A feminine, stylish,
urban vignette, the video features different pockets of Auckland to
root it in its city vibe.
