New Zealand music legend Nathan Haines and his 6-piece band plays The Rawene Town Hall for his first ever performance in Hokianga on Valentines Day, Feb 14.
Fresh from the release of his 10th solo album 5 A Daywritten and recorded in London, Nathan will bring his international sound fusing elements of soul, hip-hop, R&B, reggae, funk and jazz to the Hokianga for one unforgettable night.
One of New Zealand's best known International exports, Nathan promises to deliver a party packed atmosphere aimed squarely at those who enjoy a live gig.
"This latest album is all about having fun - on the dance floor especially" says Nathan. "But we also deliver some heavy music for the real 'heads' in the audience. We're going to be having a great time up on stage, that's for sure".
Being the winner of three New Zealand Music Awards and two certified Gold albums in New Zealand, Nathan is big on collaboration, and for this concert he is working with London based Kevin Mark Trail, singer for the UK band The Streets.
Joining them is Nathan's brother Joel Haines, known as "the guitarist's guitarist", having worked with over the years Tim Finn, Human Instinct and latterly Cairo Knife Fight.
Rotorua based Mickey Ututaonga who played drums on Nathan's legendary first album from 1994 Shift Left is on the all-important time-keeping duties, with Marika Hodgson (bassist for Hollie Smith) and Michal Martyniuk on keys.
