In anticipation of their performance at Homegrown 2015, Ekko Park announce the release of the brand new single Validation on 2nd March 2015.
Recorded in Auckland at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studio A, Produced by Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Bullet For My Valentine), Mixed by Adrian Hall (Depeche Mode, The Clash, Black Eyed Peas) and Mastered at Sterling Sound in New York.
Validationis the bands best work to date, a punchy guitar driven festival sing-along, singer Joe Walsh says “We came home from our UK & Ireland Tour and this was the first song we wrote. The opportunity arose to work with Greg and Adrian, so we went straight in to the studio and it all clicked very quickly. We can sense we have raised the bar for ourselves and Validation is a very exciting start to album number two.”
Since the release of their debut album Tomorrow Tomorrow Today Ekko Park had a whirlwind 2014 that included nationwide tours of New Zealand; substantial airplay on local and international TV and radio stations; 4 iTunes NZ Rock Chart topping singles; and in September / October, headline-toured the UK and Ireland. On returning to New Zealand, it was announced that Tomorrow Tomorrow Today had been nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2014 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
February
2015 saw the band play to a packed Vector Arena opening for Swedish rockers
Roxette and March see’s them hit the Jim Beam Homegrown Rock Stage for the
first time.
Validation will be available worldwide on all digital platforms from
Monday 2nd March.
