Warner Music NZ is proud to announce the signing of a distribution deal with Auckland based DJ duo Sweet Mix Kids – aka Sandon James & Chris Scott.
Studio sessions, recordings and music videos filmed across the globe in 2014 will see the weekly hosts of George FM's Sunday Sweet Mix release brand new music; Starting with their debut single Pure Heart on March 27, featuring Helen Corry - NZ's Melbourne-based pop songstress.
The
single has a rare, smooth, sophisticated pool-side tempo and timeless dance
feel, with perfectly matching lyrics about the search for depth and beauty in
unlikely places - truth in a world that sometimes seems laden with corruption.
Love in moments of heartache, and the expectation that we deserve to find these
things because we are human.
Recorded between Auckland and Melbourne, Corry’s haunting vocals are the
songs’ wholesomely emotive centrepiece. Paired with production magic from Sweet
Mix Kids, Pure Heart is sure to continue Helen's recent
reign on the charts and radio and introduce Sweet Mix Kids as the newest
addition to New Zealand’s pop music family.
Sweet
Mix Kids DJ sets incorporate live electronic drums and MPC - mixing every genre in
flamboyant performances the world over. The pair have played some of the
world’s coolest parties – Coachella, Rhythm & Vines, LaDeDa and toured
supporting Flume, Empire Of The Sun, Schoolboy Q, Hilltop Hoods, and Baauer.
Pre-order Pure Heart from iTunes now.
