Electronic duo Hermitude are set for their biggest year yet with the announcement new album Dark Night Sweet Light will drop on Friday 15 May, before the future beat kings embark on a three date NZ tour.
Embracing high expectations and a fast growing international base, the highly anticipated follow up to their Australian Music Prize-winning release, Hyperparadise, takes the pair to new heights with a set of songs that simultaneously illuminate brightness and celebrate darkness.
Dark Night Sweet Light sees Hermitude innovating in the ever-evolving world of modified vocal chops and constantly shifting sounds, with monstrous lead single off the album Through The Roof featuring Young Tapz paving the way for the epic record.
The intricate arrangements that have always separated Hermitude from the pack are deeper than ever, with Latin rhythms weaving into hip hop and pulsing dance floor beats underpinned by brilliant percussion and vibrantly colourful synths.
Having recently played a run of prominent US festivals including the Governor’s Ball in NYC, Buku Festival in New Orleans and SXSW in Austin, TX, Hermitude will now play Wellington and Auckland with support from rising prodigy Young Tapz, as well as an appearance at the University of Otago re-orientation.
Dark Night Sweet Light is available from all good record stores from Friday 15 May, with pre-orders available from iTunes now. Tickets for Hermitude’s following New Zealand shows go on sale from Tuesday 5 May.
