Music News - BoxstockNZ 2015

BoxstockNZ 2015

28 May 2015 - 0 Comments

BoxstockNZ is a celebration of home and hand made instruments. The event is an opportunity for makers of original instruments to come together and celebrate the homemade music revolution.

Everything from single string diddly bows to cigar box guitars, bamboo flutes to bucket drums, drink bottle shakers to, well, anything that comes to hand.

With its roots embedded in old time folk, skiffle and blues music, hand made instruments are making a comeback  and there is a worldwide community of players and builders alike.

BoxstockNZ wants to bring these people together to display their work and play a few tunes. On the day there will be live music, discussions, workshops and everyone who turns up on the day goes into the draw to win a Cigar Box Guitar courtesy of Fatt Max Cigar Box Guitars.

If you have an instrument and want to play some tunes then please register your interest at  [email protected]

Come and join in the first festival of its kind in NZ and be part of the Homemade Music Revolution...!!!
