Fat Freddy’s Drop is pleased to announce an Auckland Town Hall show on 24th October in anticipation of a new album coming soon.
The band have never played
this iconic venue and are proud to be presenting this show in-the-round. To
provide an intimate musician’s eye view of how the Freddys work, the choir
stalls behind the stage will also be made available for seating.
The Auckland Town Hall show is the first stop on a worldwide album release
tour. Over November and December, Freddys will play a 22 city continental tour
across France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway,
Denmark and the Netherlands. Summer shows for New Zealand and Australia are on
the dance card to be followed by a return to the United Kingdom in early 2016
with the highlight two shows at the 5000 capacity O2 Brixton Academy.
As the Freddys sail past the tenth anniversary of their debut studio albumBased On A True Story (B.O.A.T.S), it's all eyes ahead focusing on finishing
the next record.
“We’ve got half a terabyte of jamming and recording in the studio for a
new album, and we’re looking forward to getting these songs onto the stage”. - Freddy’s beat master DJ Fitchie
And for the first time ever, the eponymous album length release from Freddys is finally coming out on vinyl! Delicious 180 gram double LP even! Release date 19th June.
