Aston Rd Sessions
releases a live acoustic cover of
TrinityRoots Home,
Land and Sea featuring
Warren Maxwell,
Thomas Oliver & Louis Baker.
Three of Wellington's loved male singer-songwriters formed a guitar wielding
trio for ‘Pass The Gat’, a show commissioned by the Auckland Arts Festival
earlier this year. Here they perform a unique acoustic cover of the
TrinityRoots song Home, Land and Sea for Aston Rd Sessions.
Filmed live at The Pines Chapel on Wellington's south coast, Home, Land and
Sea is stripped back to an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and a slide
guitar, along with their three voices, showcasing the distinctive sounds each
player brings to a heart-felt, harmony rich, rendition of the song.
"I fell in love
with Home, Land and Sea immediately on first listen at age 14. However, I never
imagined that one day I would actually have an opportunity to play on it live
with Warren and Thomas. The meaning in this song was so pertinent when it came
out, and is equally relevant today. It is a timeless song that I hold very dear
to the heart." – Louis
Baker
Warren Maxwell (TrinityRoots, Little Bushman), Thomas Oliver (internationally
acclaimed Weissenborn player) and Louis Baker (2014 APRA Silver Scrolls
Finalist) will be playing further ‘Pass The Gat’ shows this coming August with
more dates to be announced.
Fri 21st August - Taranaki Arts Festival, New Plymouth (sold
out)
Sat 22nd August – San Fran, Wellington
