Born in the streets, underground clubs and bohemian weddings of Prague and Europe, Pragmatique play an eclectic mix of whatever takes their fancy - from ska, Balkan and European folk to gypsy swing, Latin, pop, jazz and funk.
The band formed on the streets of Prague back in 2012. They’ve been
together ever since (with the addition of a couple of players) and are now
a popular feature at festivals and weddings in The Czech Republic as well
as touring in Europe regularly.
Founding member Craig
Denham is a well respected New Zealand musician now
based in Prague. Having toured NZ six times with his local band
Beyondsemble, Denham thought it would be great to show his Czech band
mates his native country this Spring.
This bodacious busking ensemble are embarking on an extensive 30 date tour of
New Zealand including headlining the Tauranga Arts Festival at the end of
October.
Pragmatique will also be busking up a storm on the streets on their days off.
Tickets for The Vic Theatre performance are now available for purchase
from The Vic
Theatre website.
