The Phoenix Foundation are stoked to announce that they have sold out the first show of the GUYD tour and will be playing a second show at Wellington’s San Fran on Thursday 17th September.
The band have been welcomed back to the stage in their hometown with the sell-out show, with fans delighted to see them touring for the first time since 2013. The Phoenix Foundation will be stopping in eight towns around New Zealand on the tour in support of their sixth studio album Give Up Your Dreams, the first album to be entirely self-produced by the band that is jam-packed with infectious rhythms and psychedelic vibes.
The Phoenix Foundation are also proud to announce a host of support acts for the GUYD tour. Self proclaimed ‘wacky party music’ artist Disasteradio will be coming out for six dates of the tour, joining The Phoenix Foundation in Wellington, Napier, New Plymouth, Tauranga, and Auckland, which will also feature local act Princess Chelsea. Anthonie Tonnon will support in Christchurch and Queenstown, along with Nakey in Christchurch, and Males will be in support for the Dunedin show.
Available exclusively on the GUYD tour will be The Phoenix Foundation’s craft draught they have created in collaboration with the Garage Project. Inspired by Give Up Your Dreams, Garage Project presents GP Draught, an iconically Kiwi style of beer with no room for pretence, brash bitterness, flamboyant aroma, flashy fruits or additives - just a laconic selection of malts, a judicious dose of classic Kiwi hops and long lager ferment for fresher flavour.GP Draught is the official beer of the GUYD tour because, as we all know, making music is thirsty work.
