Momentum, a brand new club night is coming to Nivara Lounge Hamilton, debuting early October 2015.
Producer/DJ and long time promoter in the city, Jeremy Graham aka J Plates, takes on hosting duties for a night dedicate to the more leftfield styles of electronic music. “There’s something special about the space down there, there’s a sense of excitement as you’re heading down the stairs into that underground basement club, tucked away from the rest of the CBD.”
The monthly event aims to build on local talent, featuring guest performers and DJs adding to the existing atmosphere that the Nivara Lounge basement club has already established. “The emphasis first and foremost is on creating an inviting atmosphere, and to build a strong staying reputation by utilizing local guest musicians & artists to contribute to the dynamic nature and flow of evening.
The venue space itself also has a very long-standing history within the Hamilton music scene and to me personally, so it’s rather fitting and humbling to be involved with the venue space once again.”
Momentum kicks off on Friday the 9thof October at Nivara Lounge, 266 Victoria Street Hamilton. Doors are open between 7pm & midnight. Entry is only $5.00.
J Plates has released music internationally on Sonata Recordings (UK), Audio Theory Records (Greece), has played support for Dave Owen (USA), and hosts a monthly radio show titled ‘Atmospherics’ on local station Noize Radio.
