Gin Wigmore Announces National Tour This Summer!

21 September 2015 - 0 Comments

One of New Zealand's biggest stars, Gin Wigmore, announces a national tour this November & December showcasing her new critically acclaimed album Blood to Bone.

Fresh from selling out tours across the U.S, U.K, Australia and selling out three NZ shows earlier this year, Gin is returning to perform all around New Zealand this coming Summer.

Gin has had a phenomenal year with her third album Blood to Bone hitting #1 in NZ, debuting at her highest chart position to date in Australia and receiving critical acclaim around the world.

"Deeper, darker and more vulnerable"- The NZ Herald

"Veering between sweetly tender and hitting with the force of a blunt instrument."- Rolling Stone (US)

"Sounds like heaven." – Stereogum (US)

"...Her best release to date." 4 Stars, The Music (AUS)

The album features the hit singles New Rush Written in the Water and finds Gin evolving from her roots to create an album loaded with diverse intent and assertion of her new found stride as a musician. For her, it’s an album of many firsts – she sits behind the piano, stretches her voice into falsetto, manages all the backing vocals on the album and steps into the role of co-producer. The end result is her most powerful release to date.

Along with album success, Gin's unique vocals featured on Air New Zealand's latest major ad campaign with the song Tomorrow,

Now based in LA, Gin Wigmore has come a long way since winning the International Song Writing Competition at the age of 18. Her hugely successful 2009 debut Holy Smoke is 4x Platinum and the critically acclaimed blues-inspired follow up in 2011 titled, Gravel & Wine 2x Platinum in NZ. She is multiple NZ Music Award winner, with five awards under her belt and many more nominations. These live shows are not to be missed.
