Music News - Avalanche City Auckland Venue Change

Avalanche City’s Auckland concert on
October 16 is moving to a bigger venue! Due to an overwhelming demand for
tickets, the Concert Chamber has sold out and this show will now be at The Mercury Theatre.
Tickets already purchased will be moved to the new venue and relocated to an
equivalent seat. All enquiries regarding tickets should be directed to Ticketmaster at [email protected]
The remaining tickets for The Mercury Theatre concert go on sale at midday, Thursday September 24.
There are still tickets available for the other dates – Christchurch
October 2, Dunedin October 3, and Wellington October 17 – but are selling fast.
Dave Baxter (Avalanche
City) will bring the music from recent album - We Are For The Wild Places -
to life on the tour of the same name; and is looking forward to performing the
new album in front of a live audience, alongside his touring band consisting of
Steve Thomas (drums), Ben Devery (keys), Dave Love (hammered dulcimer) and Finn
Scholes (trumpet).
We Are For The Wild Places recently debuted at #3 on the Official Top 40 Albums
Chart (peaked at #1 on the iTunes album chart).
The album’s beautiful first single, Inside Out has been a chart and radio smash hit (peak #1 airplay and sales charts). Second
single Keep Finding A Way is swiftly climbing the radio airplay charts after major adds across the
networks.
Supporting Avalanche
City at all four concert dates is another incredibly talented
New Zealand musician, Benny
Tipene.
Armed with an acoustic guitar and a cheeky smile, Benny has become a
firm Kiwi favourite since hitting the spotlight in 2013 with debut single Walking On Water.
His debut EP Toulouse followed in 2014 and spawned the Gold hits Make You Mine and Lonely. Then came
album Bricks,
with another Gold single, Step
On Up.
