Just announced to play Laneway Festival 2016, Violent Soho are heading to Auckland ahead of the festival for a one off show October 30 at the King's Arms! It'll be the band's first ever show on our fair shores, something that's long overdue.
Adept at turning tales of
suburban ennui into raucous rock songs, Violent Soho are the Australian answer to
the revered alt-rock Seattle sound that dominated basements, garages and
mixtapes in the 90s. The longstanding four-piece have an impressive history:
they’ve toured internationally and scored massive support slots for bands like
Dinosaur Jr. and Built to Spill; and they sold out every date of their last
(extensive) Australian headline tour on the back of their album Hungry
Ghost. Hungry Ghost hit the Aussie album charts at #6 with certified Gold
sales (35,000+ sales).
They’re currently in the studio working on the much anticipated follow-up toHungry Ghost, and this week teased fans with the date 8 October 2015;
indicating we should expect some more news from Violent Soho soon.
Here in only six weeks, do not miss your chance to see Violent Soho ahead of
Laneway 2016.
