With a career spanning over 20 years, Pusha T first
came to attention as half of hip hop duo Clipse and
more recently as a solo artist who collaborates with a who’s who of the
industry. Today, Pusha T announces his long-awaited New Zealand debut, with
concert dates in Auckland and Wellington confirmed for January 2016.
Pusha T signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Records as a solo artist in 2011, and after releasing the mixtape Fear of God, recorded his full length solo debut My Name Is My Name (MNIMN) for a 2013 release on GOOD Records and Def Jam.
The album saw Kanye West taking production lead and additional production credits include Pharrell Williams, Hudson Mohawke and Swizz Beatz, with Future, Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland and Kendrick Lamar just a few of the names on the enviable line-up of featured artists.
Rolling Stone Magazine said of My Name Is My Name “It's the year's sharpest hit of street philosophy.”
In the words of NPR, "Pusha paints unforgiving yet beautiful portraits, and the production (helmed by Kanye West, featuring star turns by Pharrell Williams and Nottz) combines just enough sweet and sour to showcase his forthright emotionality, his refined story-telling and his commitment to craft and character."
Since 2013, Pusha T has been touring to support MNIMN, has released fashion collaboration County of Pusha and has been back in the studio working on his sophomore album King Push, which is rumoured to be released later this year, with the Kanye West produced teaser single Lunch Money dropped out of the blue in November 2014.
Don’t miss this the chance to see this legendary Hip Hop figure live as his career ascends to even greater heights.
