The name Shapeshifter is synonymous with the New Zealand summer. Every year, as the sweet spot of the calendar is upon us, these must-sees of the summer circuit do what they do best: carve up the country with a run of shows, impacting dance floors and festival fields with their genre-sidestepping combo of stadium rave, electronic soul and bass music.
Carrying on tradition, Shapeshifter are rolling out three shows at go-to summer destinations, adding to their already announced headlining spot at Northern Bass, with dates in Petone Beach, Butler’s Reef and Riwaka.
Shapeshifter won’t be the only ones on the tour bus, joining them will be the mighty band of brothers Kora. Fresh from sold out shows at Auckland’s Powerstation, Kora's future-shocked fusion of funk, dub, metal and psychedelia alongside their signature vocal harmonies and powerhouse rhythm section will make sure these shows are a must see live experience. Adding to the mix are the party starting Sunshine Sound System presenting a triple-threat line-up on this heavy-duty summer tour.
2015 has seen Shapeshifter heads-down in studio, hard at work on their eagerly
anticipated sixth studio album due for release in the New Year. When they take
to the stage for this trio of summer dates, they’ll be presenting a first-look
at cuts from the new LP, alongside fan favourites from their bass-heavy back
catalogue.
