On November 13, Tomorrow People will release their sophomore album, Bass & Bassinets which features 12 new studio tracks plus a remix of their single No Rush.
Following their Gold selling debut album One, the new album includes new recordings of the singles Again & Again, No Rush and new single Get It Backwhich goes to radio today.
A studio project turned live stage show, seven-piece Wellington collective, Tomorrow People are purveyors of what they describe as ‘sunshine reggae’.
Taking their name from a Ziggy Marley song, the band live up to the futuristic allusions it casts, having initially built their fan base via Facebook and demo tracks uploaded to YouTube.
The album’s title describes the life of a typical NZ muso, having to find that balance between their passion and their family lives. Since inception, the band line-up has changed numerous times, yet their signature sound remains consistent. The stylized butterfly on the cover represents a new start.
As with their first album One, Bass & Bassinets was written, produced and mixed by the band itself. Even after 5 years, they still prefer the DIY approach and creative control of their music.
From the summer feels of No Rush and Again & Again to the heavy bass and soothing vocals of the new single Get It Back, Bass & Bassinets captures a well-developed live energy and chemistry and encapsulates the feel of a Kiwi summer
