Soundsplash 2016 is stoked to announce the second string of artists and the addition of fourth stage to the three day festival.
Joining the bill are a massive host of premier DJ’s and MC’s who will bring their talent to the new Soundsystem Stage, showcasing international and local talent in the best of Roots, Dancehall, Dub, Tropical, Soul & Cumbia.
Having already sold out all the early-bird and advance tickets, Soundsplash 2016 is making waves being welcomed back with much enthusiasm from music lovers nationwide. Full price tickets are now available for the festival, including parking and overnight stays at the three stunning Wainui Reserve locations .
The all new Soundsystem Stage will reflect the true soul of Soundsplash, bringing more of those chill summer vibes that the festival is renowned for. With over 15 artists already confirmed for the new stage and more still to come, the mixture of genres is set to create a sonic experience like no other.
Hailing from the vibrant city of São Paulo Mark Koga, better known as DJ PG, will be bringing his 20 years of experience in charge of the turntables at festivals and events across the globe to Soundsplash shores. DJ PG’s authenticity and creativity are rival to none, showcasing the strong influence of elements used in the composition of 60s and 70s rock, soul and Brazilian music.
The best of New Zealand roots and culture will also be making their presence felt with the likes of DJ Dubhead who will be bringing his natural reggae flavour from 95bFM’s studio to the Soundsystem stage. Sgt Benji and KillaManRaro are joining from their celebrated shows on Base FM, Silvia MC contributing her fresh international stylings of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop, and Tuffy Culture will be playing the authentic sound of Jamaican toasting.
Also performing on the Soundsystem Stage are Lock Steady, digital dancehall specialist Naram, JAfA MAfiA, and with over 10 years experience Ayesha will be tantalising crowds with her soul/funk/disco tunes. There will be Israel Starr who has grown up in the heart of New Zealand’s reggae, dub, EDM, and hip-hop scenes, Jamin-I,DJ Atmosphere, Omega B, Bobby Brazuka. Jinga Cat will be drawing in the crowds with her Jamaican basslines and drum rhythms for all of the dancing bodies. Not to mention King Macka, Shady Lady, and Chica Lorica with her tropical bass and Afro Latin beats.
The final announcement of artists who will be appearing at Soundsplash 2016 will be made on November 12.
